1. Shared resource
I created this space for those who know me, who are about to meet me, and for myself. In the end, I will have chronicled two years of my life in stories, videos, pictures, recipes, and messages from my loved ones.
2. Peace Corps’ Third Goal
The Peace Corps has three goals. One of them is that volunteers should: “Help to promote a better understanding of other people on the part of Americans to promote global peace and friendship.”
Mark Twain of course, has his own way of sharing this sentiment:
“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts.” – Innocents Abroad
3. Info for the Peace Corps community
I have yet to meet a Peace Corps Volunteer who did not do extensive research via PC blogs before they joined. For me, these blogs provided insight to the convoluted and lengthy application process, provided examples of how my ambiguous job description might pan out in the field, and gave me a sense of where I might work in Mexico. I would love to share my experience with others in the hopes that it provides insight to other PC hopefuls.
